Your First Visit to GlowDerma: Four Steps from Assessment to Aftercare
Your first visit to GlowDerma (Unit 16, 9/F, Mira Place One, 132 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui) follows four steps: doctor's assessment, treatment and dose planning, the procedure itself, and follow-up. Every plan is doctor-led and built around preserving your natural features — and where appropriate, the doctor will recommend waiting, or not treating at all.
Step 1: Assessment with the doctor (around 30–45 minutes)
You will not be taken straight to a treatment bed. The doctor first asks what concerns you, then assesses:
- Proportion and structural support — how your features relate, and where your support points sit
- Soft tissue condition — which layer has lost volume, and how much
- Movement — you will be asked to speak and smile so muscle direction and crease formation can be observed
- Skin quality and history — thickness, elasticity, previous treatments and relevant medical history
The purpose is to read the face you already have. We do not work from a single standard answer about what a nose or an eye "should" look like — it depends entirely on the face it sits on.
Step 2: Planning the treatment and the dose
After the assessment, the doctor explains:
- Which layer your concern mainly sits in
- The available options, with their duration, downtime and limitations
- What is not advisable, and why
- The proposed dose and pace — what can be done in one session, and what should be staged
It is common for the doctor to propose less than you expected. That is deliberate: leaving room to adjust, and letting your tissue build itself, tends to look and last better. This is especially true of collagen stimulators, whose results emerge over weeks to months — over-treating in one session makes it harder to judge what you actually need.
Step 3: The treatment
The procedure is scheduled only once the plan is confirmed. On the day:
- The plan and treatment areas are confirmed again; authentic products can be verified beforehand
- Cleansing and disinfection, with topical anaesthesia where appropriate
- The doctor performs the treatment, checking in with you throughout
- Immediate aftercare: cooling, skincare, and activities to avoid
Duration varies by treatment, from well under an hour to longer.
Step 4: Follow-up and review
Results appear in stages. Fillers and lifting treatments show part of their effect immediately; collagen stimulators develop over roughly 4 to 12 weeks. At review we compare against your pre-treatment baseline and decide:
- Whether any top-up is needed, or whether you are already there
- Whether any reaction needs attention
- What the next stage is — or whether nothing further is needed
"Nothing further" is a legitimate outcome. Knowing when to stop is part of medical judgement.

FAQ
Q: Do I have to have a treatment on my first visit?
No. The first visit can be assessment and consultation only, and you are welcome to take the plan away to consider.
Q: Will I be pushed towards a package?
No. The doctor outlines the options and what is not advisable. The decision is yours, and there is no same-day discount pressure.
Q: How do I book?
Call +852 2117 0806, WhatsApp 5331 4241, or use the booking form at glowderma.hk.
Q: How much downtime is there?
It depends on the treatment — from virtually none to a few days. This is explained in full before you proceed.
Q: What makes you different from other clinics?
We start from what is naturally yours. We read your existing features first, then adjust with restraint. The aim is for people to notice you look better, without being able to tell what you had done.
Results vary between individuals. All treatments require a prior medical assessment.
